Crimson Trace Laser on J frames---Holy Cow

I just installed my Laser on a J-Frame. I wondered what it would do outside in the dark, I put a Dot 350yds into tree line and on a cinder block wall at 400 yds.

Holy Cow these things are bright at night.

yeah, they're nice. shine them at the street signs when you're going down an unlit country highway at night. looks good bouncing off the reflective coating they have....

Good for training too. Point it at a spot on the wall (outlet, light switch ect.) and pull the trigger (empty of course, or with snapcaps if you want).

Do this until you can work the double action trigger without making the laser jump around.

Those laser sights have a bad habit of drawing a line directly back to its source ... and make it very easy to concentrate firepower on them.

There's a tactical advantage to NOT glow in the dark.

I worried about this and watched a Crimson Trace Video on their Website ref this.

Cover or block the laser with finger when stelth is needed.

Over all seems like a positive, especially if your on the ground or, have to use your off hand in a strange body position.

Plus, laser sights on UNLOADED firearms are great to use when you're playing with your pet. I used to have a German Shepherd who loved to chase "Mr. Dot." It got to whenever he heard me open the gun safe, he was sitting right there, looking all excited & ready to play.
